My favorite vegan bloggers on Instagram – Celia aka the vegan wanderess

Facebooktwitterpinterest

Hello my friends!

I am here again with another amazing talent. I would like to introduce to you @theveganwanderess aka Celia and her beautiful instagram site. You can read my previous interview with Kaylie, here.

What I like about Celia – besides she is so nice and adorable – that she can get so creative with food that is almost art. I really like the colors she uses and that marble background. 🙂 I love her style and that we can get to know the person behind the pretty pictures. And she is amazing! Go on, Celia, you are doing great! 🙂

Here are some pictures from her I really like 🙂

So the interview with Celia

1. How old are you and where are you from?

I’m 20 years old and I’m from Berlin, Germany.

2. Since when are you vegan?

I decided to go vegan about 3 years ago.

3. Why did you decide to be vegan?

Before going vegan, I already was a vegetarian and ate a quite healthy diet. Nonetheless, I dealt with mental and health issues at that time and wasn’t feeling my best so I looked into different ways of eating.

I stumbled upon different documentaries (Cowspiracy, Earthlings, ..) and went vegan not only because of health aspects but also out of environmental and moral reasons.

4. What do your friends and family think about your decision?

My parents were skeptical at first but since my sister and I went vegan at the same time, they had no other choice than to accept it and it’s no problem anymore. I didn’t tell my friends straight away but when I did the reaction was quite positive. Right now, I also have a lot of friends who happen to be vegan too.

5. If you have a boyfriend/partner/husband, is he/she vegan too? (If you don’t have a partner right now, tell me about a future one)

I don’t have a boyfriend, but if I did I wouldn’t mind if he’s vegan or not. As long as he accepts my decision to not eat animals.

6. How do you feel since you went vegan?

I feel a lot more in tune with my body and it completely changed my relationship with food since I struggled with restrictive eating in the past. However, I made the mistake of eating high carb low fat in the beginning because I saw a lot of youtubers doing it. Even though it made me feel amazing short term, it actually caused health issues long term. Now that I eat a balanced diet based on whole foods I’m healthier than ever!

7. How often are you sick?

I rarely get sick, maybe once a year? However, I have a VERY sensitive stomach so I tend to experience digestive issues every now and then.

8. What is your favorite meal for breakfast/lunch/dinner?

Difficult question! My go-to breakfast is definitely oatmeal, you can enjoy it all year round, hot or cold, sweet or savory. For lunch I love having something light, such as salads or sandwiches. In the evening I always have to have a warm, filling meal. Buddha bowls are definitely my favorite, you can fill them up with whatever you have on hand – veggies, potatoes, beans, tofu/tempeh, hummus, herbs .. Also, I basically put nutritional yeast, coconut aminos and tahin on all of my hearty meals.

9. Do you think that eating plant based food is expensive? Where do you buy food?

It really depends, if you buy a lot of vegan replacements/mock meats or superfoods it can get quite expensive. Buying seasonal fruits and vegetables helps you to save money and staples like potatoes, oats and rice are also really cheap in general. I get a lot of “speciality” foods (like superfood/protein powders, nut butters, treats..) through collabs so I don’t need to buy things like that often, but they are also not necessary for a healthy diet.

10. What do you love the most about veganism?

Veganism is about compassion and love and that makes the vegan community so amazing – it’s all about the good vibes and everyone is so supporting and caring! In the end, we all have one goal: to save the animals, the planet, and humanity. (also, vegan food is pretty amazing – I love seeing what everyone comes up with!)

11. Give some advice to beginners!

It’s not about being the perfect vegan, start with small steps. You don’t have to go vegan overnight. Incorporate a vegan day into your week or a vegan meal each day. Then go further from that point. Most importantly don’t stress and only do what feels right for you!

Thank you so much Celia for this interview! 🙂

The interview series will continue.
